Marvellous microbes

Wednesday 29th November | 1 comment

This week we concluded our bread experiment to find out where the most microbes in our classroom are. We expected the door handle to be worse than it is but we have since discovered that our cleaner cleans it most days so we think that explains it. The floor grew lots of microbes as we expected and now we understand why we are told not to eat something if it has fallen on the floor! We predicted that the teacher’s table would be worse than the child’s table as the child’s table gets cleaned every night whereas the teacher is usually at their desk when the cleaning is taking place and so gets cleaned less frequently! The breath slice has surprised us and we have decided that Aiysha is exceptionally clean!

This experiment looks very interesting. I would have thought the door handles to be one of the worst locations for microbes too so it is reassuring to read that the cleaner cleans these regularly. Definitely not a good idea to eat anything that has dropped on the floor though!
