Amazing Animals In-Tuition

Tuesday 23rd January | 1 comment

What a fantastic afternoon we had on Monday afternoon! We had Animals In-Tuition in school to assist us with our science topic of Evolution and Inheritance. Mags brought several animals for us to wonder at and handle and talked to us about their adaptations. The children listened well and I was really pleased with some of the answers they gave to her questions. We saw:

Monty the ball python (sometimes called a royal python) – he was a very handsome and friendly chap!

Marvellous Marvin the crested gecko – he was small and felt like suede.

Tiddleypom the African pygmy hedgehog – she stole everyone’s hearts with her cuteness!

Woody the Scorpion – who glowed in the dark.

Rose the tarantula – who fascinated and hushed everyone.

More photos to follow.

I was impressed with the tutor’s knowledge of adaption and evolution and this provided excellent progression from the time that the animals came in Year 1. Were the children braver in Year 6?
