Getting ready…

Friday 12th July | No comments yet

What a busy week it’s been!

Children have had final transition visits to high school, we’ve been working very hard on our Leavers’ Show and we received our SATs results. Overall, we are very pleased with the results. For the most part, they were in-line with what we were expecting. The most important thing to note is that every child did his or her best. The children prepared well and put in 100% effort. If you require any further explanation about what the results sheet means, don’t hesitate to ask. There will also be more detail given in the end of year reports next week.

Our Leavers’ Show is getting closer and closer. We are nearly ready! Thank you for sending in costumes today. It is very important that any further costumes or props arrive at school on Monday when we will be having the first of our two dress rehearsals.

We would like to invite you to two very important events in the coming week:

  1. Leavers’ Show – Wednesday 17th July. Children should be dropped off in their classrooms at 6:30 pm for a 7:00 show. Once you drop off your children, you may find a seat. Please do not arrive any earlier than 6:30. Many children require school uniform for their “costume”. If that is the case, they should arrive wearing it on Wednesday evening.
  2. Leavers’ Assembly – Friday 19th July, 9:00 a.m. – This is a very special annual assembly for the entire school from Nursery to Year 6. It is an opportunity to share all of the wonderful events of the year and say good-bye to our Year 6 children. You should expect the assembly to last until about 11 a.m.

One final note about mobile phones – this week the children seem to have created a “Year 6 Group”. While this is great for keeping in touch once they all move on to high school, it has been causing problems for a number of families. Children have been on the group until 11:30 at night and then starting again at 6:30 in the morning. Some children woke up to over 1000 notifications. We’d like to ask that every family have a conversation about responsible, respectful mobile phone use when it comes to text messages. Thank you.
